You can still use these “conglomorate minded” social network sites like facebook as a way to bring attention to your website.

My website site is a online Directory of all of the African Caribbean community Information, Discussion Debate radio shows across the diaspora.

I have also created a space to highlight other current affairs based mediums, i.e. tv stations, magazines, newspapers, news blogs etc

p.s the webiste is still going through develolment stages

Val McCalla deserved praise where praise was due.
We must not forget the campaign fought in the 1980’s with The Voice newspaper to improve their reporting on lesbian and gay issues.
There was a year long campaign with trade union (Nalgo /) Unison to get The Voice to adopt an equal opportunity policy led by black lesbians and gays.
The Voice was receiving significant advertising revenue from local authorities which had developed and implemented positive equal opportunities and then The Voice would publish garbage about the lesbian and gay lifestyle.

The fact that this question is even raised, given the already established history of slavery and forced black Diaspora around the world, is itself racist. The fact that black people feel the need to apologize for attempting to recover a history taken from them as a justification for their enslavement and disenfranchisement–that they feel the need to make white people feel better about what they did is ludicrous. as Malcolm X would say “That’s not intelligent.” Did you hear Jews apologizing? The Japanese? The Red Native American? Why do we? The first step to restoration of lost history is to reclaim your right to know. The last thing you need to be doing is getting permission to know from those who suppressed that right in the first place. The liberation of black minds is the restoration of their history. The liberation of white minds is to acknowledge it.
